Author Robert F. DeBurgh

We have author Robert F. DeBurgh at the desk today. He is the author of the Riders of the Wind Series. Today, we'll get to know him, and learn what to expect in this exciting series. This author takes us back - back when dreams were driven seemingly beyond human limitations and adventure was open to all who sought it. The reader enters the lives of his characters, with all their troubles and sorry balanced by their joys and love.

~~~
Riders of the Wind
Riders of the Wind is an epic novel of adventure and romance set in the scene of aviation during the turbulent times of the nineteen twenties and thirties. The book follows the lives of Charles and Doretta Cross through the era of the great depression, prohibition, the airmail, and the formation of the infant airlines. It graphically portrays the danger, excitement and romance of flight in the pioneering years before World War Two and takes the reader into the cockpit with the airmail pilots of the twenties and the airline route survey pilots flying the heart of the Amazon jungles. A “must read” for anyone interested in aviation or, for that matter, anyone who is merely interested in the history, dress and lifestyle of the pre-WWII era.
Winds of Fate
Winds of Fate takes place during World War II, but you cannot call it a war story. It is the story of Charlie Cross and his wife Doretta, both civilians but ultimately tied to the military, Charlie as a Service
Pilot with Air Transport Command and Doretta as an instructor with the Women Airforce Service Pilots.
Charlie flies the Hump from India to China, one of the most dangerous operations in World War II.
According to the author, “The Hump gobbled men and airplanes like a child would eat Christmas candy. This operation is little known and little publicized yet these men managed to bring into China all the supplies that were needed to continue the war against the Japanese. The lessons learned became the basis for the Berlin Airlift and modern day military transport.”
Doretta serves as a WASP, operating against male prejudice, difficult flying conditions and sometimes flying dangerous aircraft. The ladies who took on the duties of a WASP did an amazing job of flying military airplanes and doing many jobs male pilots did not want to do here in the US.
Winds of Fate is a fast paced well-written novel that everyone will enjoy reading. You do not need to be a fan of aviation or World War II stories to appreciate this book. The reader will be entranced by the action, brought to tears when someone is lost and filled with happiness when true love is found. Anyone who loves a great story will find it difficult to put this book down once you get started.
Author Spotlight – Brenda Perlin
It's Author Spotlight Day at the desk today and it's all about Brenda Perlin. Brenda is another great author with Master Koda Select Publishing. Her first book, Home Wrecker I, gives rise to the Home Wrecker Chronicles and has rapidly gained a following. The story has pulled readers into the lives of a couple, Brooklyn and Bo, who unexpectedly find each other at a time when neither was searching. Their story has garnered honest, and at times, cutting reviews. On the other side of the review coin, readers readily admit to searching their own hearts once they close the virtual cover of this well-written book. Brenda Perlin has more stories to tell. Her characters are full of life and love with many adventures to come. The release of Home Wrecker II: The Brooklyn Chronicles is highly anticipated by the author's growing fan base. And, they will be happy to know that the wait is nearly over as the book is fast-tracking through the Master Koda publishing house as I type these words.
On a personal note, I met Brenda in the Master Koda writer's group on Facebook. I haven't known her long but in the short time since we've become acquainted, I'm proud to call her my friend. She's a women with a soft heart who speaks kindly of everyone and is always available to her friends and others who need encouragement. If you ever have occasion to meet or spend time with her, you'll be richly blessed by the encounter.
Now, let's get to Brenda's books.
Brooklyn and Bo, each unhappily married to others, must decide whether to stay with their spouses or give up everything for their love.
"Throughout Brooklyn’s life, she felt like she was on an endless journey toward redemption and she would have to be stronger than she ever imagined; do things she never felt herself capable of doing. When she finally found her soul mate, he came with one big snag: a wife. Brooklyn found herself fighting off her soon to be ex-husband and her lover’s wife. She knew what she was doing was wrong and yet… she couldn't turn back. No matter how much pain she may cause, it was too late. Brooklyn and Bo, each unhappily married to others, must decide whether to stay with their spouses or give up everything for their love. Brooklyn’s husband and Bo’s wife would try everything to break them apart and it was then Brooklyn finally confronted her own demons and came clean with everything and everyone in her life… even herself."
A Home Wrecker Divorce
“I had no intention of forsaking my wedding vows. I had strong morals and never could have imagined going against them.”
My parents were married over 30 years and even though they may not have been the best suited couple they planned on staying together until the end. Unfortunately, my mom’s end was sooner than expected. There is not a lot of divorce in my family and I never thought I would be another casualty. I believed in marriage and I still do. When I walked out on my marriage I left with disgrace and many called a Home Wrecker without knowing the whole story. Sometimes your life is altered in such a way that you do things that are totally unexpected.
Ever since Brenda was a child, she has been fascinated with writing. She draws her biggest inspiration from Judy Blume. This sparked a passion in Brenda to pursue personal expression through writing. Brenda Perlin Visits The Desk - Red Face & Yellow Hair
I'd like to welcome Brenda Perlin to the desk today. She is the author of The Home Wrecker Chronicles. Today, she'll share her most embarrassing moment with us. I couldn't help but to laugh when I read this. I think it's good to laugh at ourselves even if it may take a few years to see the humor in the situation. I can so relate to the moment she shared because I once wound up with purple hair before an out of state trip.
Read Brenda's hair story below.
~~~

What is the most embarrassing moment of your life?

The most embarrassing moment in my life has to be the time I dyed my dark brown hair to blond. I have always liked the idea of having sun-kissed streaks in my hair but never imagined I would go to such extremes. For one thing, it wasn’t a Marilyn Monroe or Bo Derrick blond. My entire head turned one flat color: yellow! This dye job left me with the worst shade of blond I had ever seen. It was not a color you would even find in real life. I looked like a cartoon character from the comic strip the Archie's. The embarrassing part was not being able to change my hair color back to brown for one full week. Since my tresses had gone through so many damaging chemicals I was advised to wait and give my hair a break. Of course, that week was my high school reunion of which I so wanted to look my best. Instead, I made myself appear like a bad street hooker. This was just one of many bad decisions I have made. That is so typical of something I might do. I am notorious for making trouble for myself when I would have been better off leaving things well enough alone. The thing is, I never seem to learn from my mistakes and I am a creature of habit. Some people look for problems and I guess I am guilty of doing that.

I never again attempted to dye my hair blond since. That is one lesson I can say I have learned from. The only person who complimented me on my new appearance was my dad. He always told me I was beautiful even when I did not look so great. Thank goodness for family and friends. In life with so many options and choices to make, we need all the cheerleaders we can get.

~~~
Isn't this a great cover?
